NEW 5/22/20 update from Fr. John

    Information from the Archdiocese (5/14/2020):

    1) Phase 1 of the reopening of parishes in the Archdiocese begins this Friday, May 15, at 5:00 pm.  ONLY funeral masses, weddings, and baptisms may be held indoors in our churches During Phase 1. Face masks and social distancing are required.  Attendance at the above events is limited to no more than 10 people during Phase 1, and no outdoor liturgies are allowed. Those with vulnerable health should stay home. Confessions at our pastorate will resume in Phase 1 by appointment only; please call the parish offices to make an appointment.  Weekday and Weekend masses will continue to be live-streamed with only the priest and liturgical ministers in attendance during Phase 1.  The obligation to attend mass in person is suspended.

    2) Phase 2 begins on May 30. While public masses will resume at that time, the obligation to attend Sunday mass continues to be suspended.  Those with vulnerable health should stay home.   Those who attend mass must wear face masks. Social distancing is also required for those who do not live in the same household.  Indoor mass seating is limited to every other pew and 33% of the every other pew church capacity.  Obviously, these restrictions will severely limit the number of those who can be accommodated in the churches of our pastorate.  The diocese is allowing outdoor masses with face masks and social distancing during phase 2, such that we could accommodate more people.

All In-Person Pastorate Masses, Meetings, and Fundraisers are cancelled until further notice.
Offices are closed with Staff working remotely.

Confession Times: During Phase I, confessions will be by appointment only. Please call the office for more information or to schedule an appointment.

  • Welcome to our Pastorate

The Catholic Parishes of South Washington County (CPSWC) joins together our three vibrant parishes to be a beacon of Christ's Light in our communities and beyond. Entrusted with this light at baptism, we go forth celebrating the sacraments, proclaiming the gospel, and serving the people of God. CPSWC offers both daily and weekend masses across our three parishes of St. Augustine, St. James, and St. Joseph's.

  • Act of Spiritual Communion

Below is a traditional Prayer of Spiritual Communion. It can be prayed if you find yourself unable to receive the Eucharist, or even in the midst of your daily work, lifting up your thoughts to God. We are called to live our lives in communion with God. An act of spiritual communion can help draw us closer to that goal each and every day.
May the Holy Spirit bless us as we pray:

    My Jesus,
I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.
I love You above all things, and I desire
to receive You into my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart.
I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You.
Never permit me to be separated
    from You.
    Amen.
