Check-in: complete documentation as residents check-in for the night (1-2 people needed)
Security/Search: assist residents as they declare that they are abiding by the rules of the shelter (2 people needed)
Laundry: monitor that the residents who are signed up for laundry complete their washing and drying in a timely manner (1-2 people needed)
Hospitality: chatting with residents during the dinner hour. Playing games, too. (2-4 people needed)
Kitchen: assisting with meal prep and clean up. (6-8 people needed)
Overnight assistant: on-hand overnight in case of emergency. You may sleep for the night (in your private space) or you may remain awake if you are a night owl. (1 person per night. Some folks pair up as they play cards or read through the night).
Breakfast: assist shelter staff in the morning from 5-7am. Perfect for early birds. (2 people per day)

St. Joe’s Catholic Daughters is looking into an evening during which they can prepare a meal.
Those with sewing skills may volunteer to mend clothing on-site. Musicians can play tunes during dinner. Barbers/stylists may volunteer to do haircuts on a specified evening.
