Canon Law requires that the parishes have an active Finance Committee to serve as an advisory council to the Pastor.  The committee is responsible for assisting the Pastor in developing and monitoring the annual parish budget, and any required long term capital improvement plans.  The committee also has responsibility for oversight of parish financial operations and for submission of the parish’s annual financial report to the Archdiocese.

The committee meets monthly and consists of the Pastor, a Finance Chair, and other lay members of the parish.  Members typically have backgrounds in Accounting, Finance, Business, Law, or Management.

The Finance Committee typically meets the first Monday of every month.
